Description
The Walthers Mainline 910-8766 HO Scale Caboose, representing the DT&I Detroit & Toledo Shore Line #121, is an International Wide-Vision Caboose that's ready to run. Introduced in the 1960s, it allows crews to see over larger freight cars. This model features a full - width cupola ending at the car roof edge. Key features include prototypes used from the 1960s to 1980s (some still used as shoving platforms), a wide - vision cupola with two window styles, a Stanray overhanging diagonal panel roof, thin see - through running boards, finely molded end ladders, scale - thickness end railings, an underbody toolbox, molded drill starter points for grab irons (easily added with a separately sold Caboose Detail Kit #910 - 201), Barber Swingmaster roller bearing trucks with 33' RP - 25 turned metal wheelsets, and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.
Using this Walthers Mainline HO scale caboose is easy. Just place it at the end of your HO freight train, and it's ready to roll. When handling the caboose, be gentle with the delicate parts like the thin running boards and finely molded ladders. To maintain it, clean the caboose regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. If you want to add grab irons, use the Caboose Detail Kit #910 - 201. Make sure to drill carefully at the molded starter points. Keep the trucks and wheels clean and lubricated occasionally to ensure smooth running. Store the caboose in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent any color fading or damage to the plastic parts.
