Description
The Atlas 20006549 HO Scale model represents the Guilford B&M #2755 PS-2 Covered Hopper in eye - catching gray, white, and orange colors. Note that the picture might show a different road number. Covered hoppers are a modern addition to the railroad car family. Until the 1980s, the AAR regarded them as “special” cars, and then they got their own car type code. These early designs, mainly for efficient cement loading and unloading (before, cement was bagged in box cars), were built by Pullman - Standard from the late 1940s to the 1950s. This two - bay car has eight round roof hatches for fast loading and two large gravity gates for quick commodity discharge, with a capacity of 2,003 cubic feet. Key features include 50 - ton friction bearing or 70 - ton roller bearing trucks (depending on the road name), detailed brake gear, Accumate® couplers, and realistic painting and printing.

Using this HO scale covered hopper model is easy. You can simply place it on your model railroad track and connect it to other cars using the Accumate® couplers. When handling the model, be gentle to avoid any damage to the detailed brake gear or the trucks. If you notice any dirt on the model, you can use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe it clean. Don't use any harsh chemicals as they might damage the prototypical painting and printing. Store the model in a cool, dry place when not in use to keep it in good condition. Also, make sure to check the couplers regularly to ensure a smooth connection with other cars on the track.
