This HO scale Atlas Master 20007023 50-foot plug door boxcar represents CGW Chicago Great Western #341, painted in a vibrant boxcar red and black color scheme. Note that the picture might show a different road number. Starting in the mid-1950s, the AAR design was used to create these plug door, insulated boxcars for carrying food and other perishables where temperature control was needed without refrigeration. They feature 8/8 panel riveted sides, an eight-foot door opening, straight side sills, and overhanging diagonal panel roofs. These cars were built for roads across the nation with colorful paint jobs.
