Description
This is an HO scale model of the Otter Valley Railroad's 64054 NSC 64-foot 6400 cubic-foot scrap and trash gondola, identified as AIMX #1179. Please note that the picture might show a different road number. The NSC 64-foot gondola is a workhorse in construction and waste disposal, hauling waste to transfer sites. It's also great for carrying light to medium-density steel and other scrap materials from scrappers to end - users. You can spot these cars across North America in unit or manifest train services, especially post - 2000. This model comes with amazing features: it has accurate ends and slotting based on real - world measurements. There are different offset slots for 7 - rung and 8 - rung ladder cars. It's a brand - new design, using industry data and field measurements. The air reservoir and brake levers are the correct size and in the'release' position. It has metal wheels, coupler cut bars, correct air hoses, and a knuckle coupler. The ladders are separately applied, and the underbody is fully detailed. The near - scale draft gear box has specialized cushion details. The painting and lettering are crisp, just like the real thing. And it has rotating roller - bearing wheel caps with appropriate Bremco or Timken branding.
Using this HO scale scrap and trash gondola model is easy. Just place it on your model train tracks and connect it to other cars in your train set. You can use it in either unit train or manifest train service on your North - American themed model railway. When handling the model, be gentle to avoid damaging the separately applied ladders or the detailed underbody. Keep it away from sharp objects and rough surfaces. For maintenance, you can use a soft, dry cloth to dust it regularly. If it gets dirty, you can use a mild soap solution and a soft brush to clean it carefully, but make sure to dry it thoroughly afterwards. Check the couplers and wheels periodically to ensure they are in good working condition.
