Description
The Logic Rail OD - 1 - IR is an all - scale optical detector. It uses an infrared emitter and detector between the rails for detection. When the train reflects the IR beam, the red outputs light up. When there's no reflection, the green output activates. This detector works well under any layout lighting conditions. It offers a selectable 2 or 4 - second detector release time. The OD - 1/OD - 1 - IR has one red and one green output for driving LEDs in various wiring setups like 2 - lead bipolar LEDs, 3 - lead bipolar LEDs, or individual red and green LEDs. There's also a separate red output for higher - power devices such as lamps, relays, or other external circuits. It comes with a bipolar (red/green) LED and proper current - limiting resistors. The LED outputs can handle 25mA, and the higher - power output is rated at 150mA. You can power the OD - 1 - IR with 7 - 9V AC or 9 - 12V DC, like using our WT1A with our 12VPSR. It draws about 100mA with the included LED. The MSRP of the OD - 1 - IR is $27.95.

Using the Logic Rail OD - 1 - IR is easy. First, make sure you power it correctly. You can use 7 - 9V AC or 9 - 12V DC. For example, you can pair our WT1A with our 12VPSR. Once it's powered, it'll start detecting trains on the rails using the infrared emitter and detector. When a train passes and reflects the IR beam, you'll see the red outputs light up. When there's no train, the green output will be on. You can choose a 2 or 4 - second detector release time according to your needs. Connect the LEDs to the red and green outputs as per your wiring scheme. You can use different types of LEDs, like 2 - lead bipolar LEDs or individual red and green ones. For higher - power devices such as lamps or relays, use the separate red output. Just be careful not to exceed the current ratings. The LED outputs are rated at 25mA, and the higher - power output is 150mA. When it comes to maintenance, keep it clean from dust and debris. If you notice any issues with the detection or the outputs, check the power supply and the connections.
