The Digitrax DH187PS is a high - performance 8 - pin mobile decoder designed for HO scale trains. It can replace the DH166PS. This decoder fits many 8 - pin medium socket DCC - Ready HO locomotives. It comes with a Digitrax 9 - pin socket and P - Harness, along with a medium plug having about 1.2' wires. It has a 1.0 Amp continuous and 2 Amps peak power output, and 8 FX7 functions with 300ma output. Key features include 9 - pin and 6 - pin harnesses for easy movement between locomotives, Digitrax Easy Connect 9 - pin to locomotive DCC medium - plug 3” harness, Series 7 enhanced decoder features. The firmware can be updated by users with a Digitrax USB - equipped Command Station and Sound Loader software. It offers 8 Digitrax FX7 functions for prototypical lighting effects and on/off control, and a configurable FX7 pulse function. It supports the Digitrax LocoMotion® System for realistic train operation, 2 - digit and 4 - digit addressing, and various consisting modes. It has a SuperSonic motor drive for silent running, and allows direct and operations mode programming. You can program CVs using any Digitrax - compatible control system without extra equipment. It's transponder - equipped, has power - on motor isolation protection, is DCC - compatible, FCC Part 15, Class B RFI compliant, and operates on DCC track voltage from 9V to 22V.
Using the Digitrax DH187PS decoder is straightforward. First, make sure your HO scale locomotive is DCC - Ready and has an 8 - pin medium socket. Connect the decoder using the provided 9 - pin socket and P - Harness. The medium plug with 1.2' wires should be easily attached to the locomotive. To use the 8 FX7 functions, simply operate your Digitrax - compatible control system. For firmware updates, you'll need a Digitrax USB - equipped Command Station and Sound Loader software. Just put the decoder in IPL mode and follow the software instructions. When programming CVs, you don't need any extra equipment, just use your compatible control system. For addressing, you can choose between 2 - digit and 4 - digit options. As for maintenance, keep the decoder clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture.
