This N Scale ATLAS 50004971 ACF 60' Auto Parts DD Box Car represents the Detroit & Toledo Shoreline (D&TS) #5554. Note that the picture might show a different road number. Built by American Car & Foundry from the late 1960s to early 1970s, these 60-foot auto parts box cars served assembly plants and component suppliers nationwide. With single or double doors, they offered easy access to freight, making them highly versatile for the auto industry. Many are still in service across North America today. Features include 70-ton roller-bearing trucks, a deluxe-style positionable door, prototypical painting and lettering, a die-cast underframe with realistic details and separate end ladders, AccuMate® operating knuckle couplers, and roof overspray.
