Description
Walthers Mainline presents the 910-8717 Caboose, the GN Great Northern X-154 in HO Scale. This International Extended Wide-Vision Caboose is ready to run right out of the box! It combines the best of the traditional cupola and bay window features. Used by many railroads from 1965 to the 1980s, and still in use as maintenance equipment and shoving platforms today. Here are its key features: Limited quantity available - order now for this one-time roadnumber run! It has a correct X-panel roof without running boards or end ladders. The model matches prototype dimensions: 39' 1-1/4' over buffers, 14' 5-1/2' to the top of the cupola roof, and 10' 7-1/2' wide at the cupola. It comes with an authentic extended wide vision cupola, a detailed underbody with side-mount brake gear, scale thickness end railings. There are molded drill starter points for grab irons, which can be easily added with the separately sold Caboose Detail Kit (910-201). It also has Barber Swingmaster roller bearing trucks with 33' turned metal RP-25 wheelsets and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.
Using this Walthers Mainline caboose is easy. Since it's ready to run, you can simply place it at the end of your HO scale freight train and start your layout operation right away. When handling the caboose, be gentle to avoid any damage to the delicate parts like the end railings and the cupola. If you want to add grab irons, use the Caboose Detail Kit (910 - 201) and follow the instructions provided with it. For maintenance, regularly clean the wheelsets to ensure smooth movement. You can use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the body of the caboose and remove any dust. Store the caboose in a cool, dry place when not in use to prevent any warping or damage. Also, keep it away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
