Based on cars in service from the 1970s to the early 2000s, it can carry large steel coils used in making automobiles, appliances, and food packaging. It has matching, removable hoods in different styles with lifting and stacking brackets. The car is fully assembled with etched metal walkways, grab irons, an underframe cushioning device, and separate brake gear. It has a detailed body with a V - shaped load cradle and separate restraints, a heavy die - cast metal frame for better performance, 100 - ton roller - bearing trucks, correct 36' RP - 25 metal wheelsets, and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers. You can quickly detail your new coil cars with the separately sold Cornerstone Steel Coil Load (#933 - 1499). It's perfect for use with the Walthers Steel and Auto Industry Series!

Using this HO scale coil car on your model train layout is easy. First, you can choose the appropriate removable hood (angled, round, or glass fiber) according to your preference and attach it to the car using the lifting and stacking brackets. If you want to add more realism, you can purchase the Cornerstone Steel Coil Load (#933 - 1499) separately and place it in the V - shaped load cradle on the car. When it comes to running the train, the heavy die - cast metal frame and 100 - ton roller - bearing trucks ensure smooth performance. For maintenance, keep the car clean. You can use a soft brush to remove dust from the etched metal walkways, grab irons, and other details. Also, check the Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers regularly to make sure they are working properly. If you notice any parts are loose or damaged, it's best to replace them as soon as possible to keep your coil car in top condition.
