Description
The Atlas 20006531 NSC Newsprint Box Car MD&W Boise Cascade #7043 in green and white is an HO scale model. Note that the picture might show a different road number. In 1967, the National Steel Car Corporation in Hamilton, Ontario, made the first cars for transporting newsprint between Canada and the US. These cars had riveted or welded sides and smooth interiors, including the doors, to protect heavy paper rolls. They needed high interiors and large door openings. Seven railroads bought these cars, and they were used in paper shipping until the late 2000s. They had various colorful paint schemes. This model features separately applied detail parts, accurate paint and door setups, knuckle couplers, and free-rolling Symington roller bearing trucks.
Using this HO scale Atlas NSC newsprint box car is easy. You can simply place it on your model train track. It'll look great as part of your train consist. When handling it, be gentle to avoid damaging the separately applied detail parts. To keep it in good condition, clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Make sure the knuckle couplers are properly connected when attaching it to other cars. Also, check the free-rolling Symington roller bearing trucks from time to time to ensure smooth movement.
