Scaletrains ExactRail Platinum presents the EP80551-6 HO scale Pacific Car & Foundry 7633 Appliance Boxcar, representing the Milwaukee Road as delivered in 1975, specifically numbered #4252. Note that the picture might show a different road number. In March 1975, Pacific Car & Foundry delivered 40 of these 7633 cubic foot appliance boxcars to the Milwaukee Road, numbered from 4213 to 4252. Many had a return stencil for Penn Central RR in Moraine, Ohio. Some cars later had stencil changes for new assignments at the Hotpoint Company, while others kept the original stencil for years. After the Milwaukee Road ended, many cars went to the Canadian Pacific, with some repainted and most staying in their original paint. Some were still seen on the rails recently. This all-new model offers features like precision micro - tooling, full assembly (except the kit), multiple road numbers, and was designed, engineered, and tooled in the United States. It has incredibly accurate artwork, ExactRail’s 70 - Ton Barber S - 2 Trucks, CNC - machined 33' metal wheel sets, Kadee #156 couplers, and a fully detailed body - mounted draft box. There are numerous hand - applied details such as air hoses, grab irons, door tracks, and door bars. The wire coupler cut levers and drop - down brake rigging add to its realism. In the 1970s, 60' high - cube appliance boxcars emerged from multiple manufacturers, often confused with auto parts boxcars. PC&F delivered these 7633 cubic foot boxcars to the Milwaukee Road, Western Pacific, and Missouri Pacific system in early 1975, many with Air - Pak bulkheads. They were rated at 70 tons and came with Barber S - 2 trucks. PC&F also had a 100 - ton version with one fewer panel per side of the door. Railroads like Missouri Pacific and Norfolk and Western received those. Even though the purchasing railroads were western or midwestern, these cars spent much time in the east. Milwaukee Road cars had Penn Central return stencils, and MP & WP cars were for General Electric facilities. If you're into 1975 - to - present model railroading, this PC&F 7633 Appliance Boxcar is for you!
