Atlas 20005792 GARX Insulated 50' Boxcar (Reefer) TP&W Toledo Peoria & Western #50300 HO Scale

The Atlas 20005792 is an HO scale insulated 50' GARX boxcar (reefer) of the TP&W Toledo Peoria & Western #50300. Note that the picture might show a different road number. These AAR class bunkerless refrigerator cars, a joint creation of General American and Evans Products, started production in the early 1950s. They feature two large horizontal panels beside a 7’7” door, with a unique look due to the horizontal rivet strip connecting the panels. Having fewer seams than a standard box car, they're less likely to rust and leak. By 1959, over 1,000 of these boxcars were made. Key features include an 8’ plug with separate latch bars, overhanging diagonal panel roofs, accurate postwar ends, and precise painting and printing.
