Description
The Atlas Gold 40005161 presents a remarkable N scale model of the GE Dash8 - 40B locomotive from the Southern Pacific, numbered #8017, equipped with DCC and sound. Note that the picture might show a different road number. Built by GE in the late 1980s, these DASH 8 - 40B diesel locomotives are still in service in North America. They are recognized by the dynamic brake gear on the roof between the cab and engine compartment, with large roof - top grilles for ventilation. This model comes with amazing features such as directional lighting, painted safety rails, blackened metal wheels, and factory - installed AccuMate® knuckle couplers. It has a Scale Speed™ motor and golden - white LEDs. You can choose between a standard cab or a gull - wing cab. There are two versions: one with a Lenz decoder and one without. For the gold locomotives, the DCC operation supports all programming modes, includes RailCom and RailComPlus, and has flexible function key mapping. The ESU LokSound offers over 20 sound effects, multiple user - selectable horns, bells, and brake squeals, and both manual and automatic notching modes for a realistic experience.

Using this model train is a breeze. First, if you've chosen the decoder - equipped version, connect it to your DCC system according to the instructions. Then, power up the system and use your controller to operate the train. You can control its speed, direction, and activate the various functions like the lights and sounds. For the sound feature, simply select your preferred sound effects through the controller. When it comes to maintenance, keep the model clean. You can use a soft brush to remove dust from the body, wheels, and the interior. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they may damage the paint or the electrical components. Store the model in a dry and cool place to prevent any corrosion. If you notice any issues with the movement or the sound, check the connections and make sure the decoder is functioning properly. Have fun with your model train!
