Description
The FVM 10056 Trinity RD-4 Coal Hopper from Fox Valley Models in N Scale, BNSF/Heritage III #651525, is a must - have for model train enthusiasts. Note that the picture might show a different road number. The Trinity RD - 4 is a 4200 - cubic - foot modern aluminum hopper car built from the mid - 1990s and still in use today. Railroads and public utilities use these cars in unit trains to transport coal from fields to power plants or export ports. The FVM RD - 4 Hopper for BNSF comes with new road numbers, suitable for the era from 2005 to the present. It's fully assembled with a detailed plastic body and die - cast weight with interior detail. Features include modeler - applied interior braces, a removable coal load, detailed free - rolling trucks, 36” machined metal wheels, and body - mounted operating knuckle couplers compatible with Micro - Trains®. The printing and lettering are clear even under magnification, and it's weighted to industry standards for reliable operation. It can operate on Code 55, 70, and 80 rail, and comes in a clear jewel box for safe storage. The minimum radius is 9 ¾” and the recommended radius is 11”. Coal transportation by train has evolved over time, and the Trinity RD - 4 represents a modern solution with high capacity and rapid discharge features.

Using your FVM 10056 Trinity RD - 4 Coal Hopper is easy. Just place it on Code 55, 70, or 80 rail. Make sure the track radius is at least 9 ¾”, but 11” is recommended for better operation. You can add or remove the coal load as you like to change the look of your model. When it comes to maintenance, keep the 36” machined metal wheels clean to ensure smooth rolling. Check the body - mounted operating knuckle couplers regularly to make sure they're working properly. Store your model in the clear jewel box when not in use to protect it from dust and damage. Also, since the picture might show a different road number, don't be surprised if your actual model has a different one. Have fun with your new model train addition!
