Description
Upgrade your 1960s and later freight car fleet with the Walthers Mainline 40' American Car and Foundry Modernized Welded Boxcar featuring 8' Youngstown Doors. These HO scale models, typical of thousands upgraded for new safety regulations in the 1960s, offer a brand - new body style. It's a one - time run of these road numbers, so order now as quantity is limited. Prototypes were used in general freight service from the late 1960s to the 1980s. They're based on cars rebuilt to meet new safety standards like no running boards or mounts on the roof, tall ladders and a molded roof - mounted grab iron at the B (brake wheel end) only, and short ladders at the A end. The boxcar has a detailed 10 - panel body, 8' Youngstown doors, late Stanray 4/4 improved Dreadnaught ends, a Stanray diagonal panel roof, correct 33' turned metal RP - 25 metal wheelsets, and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.

Using this HO scale boxcar is easy. Just place it on your model railroad tracks and enjoy adding it to your freight car fleet. When handling, be gentle to avoid any damage to the delicate parts like the wheelsets and couplers. To maintain it, use a soft, dry cloth to dust it regularly. If there's some dirt, you can use a mild cleaner, but make sure to dry it thoroughly. Store it in a cool, dry place to prevent any warping or corrosion. Since it's a limited - quantity item, handle it with extra care to keep it in good condition for a long time.
