Description
This is an exclusive Otter Valley product - the NSC 64 Ft Scrap and Trash Gondola in N Scale, SECX #2315. The picture might show a different road number. The 64 - foot gondola is mainly used in construction and waste disposal to haul waste to transfer sites. It also serves to transport light - to - medium - density steel and other scrapping materials from scrap yards to end - users. You can spot these cars across North America, either in unit trains or manifest train services. It's a post - 2000 era model. Model features include accurate ends and sloting from field measurements, different offset slots for 7 - rung and 8 - rung ladder cars. It's a newly designed model using industry sources and field data. It has the correct - sized air reservoir and brake levers in the release position, metal wheels, coupler cut bars, and proper air hoses. It comes with a Microtrains type Knuckle coupler, separately applied ladders, a fully detailed underbody, a near - scale draft gear box with specialized cushion detail, and crisp painting and lettering like the prototype. The wheels have appropriate Bremco or Timken parts.
Using this Otter Valley N Scale gondola is easy. You can use it in your model train setup to represent real - life waste hauling or material transportation scenarios. When you're setting it up in a train, just connect it using the Microtrains type Knuckle coupler. Make sure the brake levers are in the release position for normal operation. As for maintenance, keep it clean. You can use a soft brush to gently remove dust from the car body, wheels, and ladders. Check the coupler cut bars and air hoses regularly to ensure they're in good condition. If you notice any loose parts, you can carefully re - attach them. Also, store it in a dry place to prevent rusting of the metal wheels and other parts. When handling, be gentle to avoid damaging the separately applied ladders and the detailed underbody.
