Description
An exclusive Otter Valley product! This N Scale model of the 6454 NSC 64-foot 6400 cubic-foot scrap and trash gondola (OFOX #1866) is a great addition to your collection. Note that the picture might show a different road number. The real NSC 64Ft Gondola is widely used in construction and waste disposal industries to haul waste to transfer sites. It's also used to transport light to medium density steel and other scrapping materials from scrapers to end - users. You can spot these cars all over North America in unit or manifest train services, mainly in the post - 2000 era. The model features accurate ends and sloting based on real - world measurements. It has different offset slots for 7 - rung and 8 - rung ladder cars. Designed using industry sources and field data, it comes with a correctly sized air reservoir and brake levers in the'release' position. It has metal wheels, coupler cut bars, correct air hoses, and a Microtrains type Knuckle coupler. Separately applied ladders and a fully detailed underbody enhance its realism. The near - scale size draft gear box has specialized cushion detail, and it has crisp painting and lettering like the real prototype. Wheels have appropriate Bremco or Timken markings where needed.
Using this Otter Valley N Scale scrap and trash gondola model is easy. Simply place it on your model train track as part of your train setup. Whether you're creating a unit train or a manifest train, this gondola will fit right in. When handling the model, be gentle to avoid any damage to the delicate parts like the separately applied ladders and coupler cut bars. To keep it in good condition, regularly clean the metal wheels with a soft, dry cloth to prevent dust and debris from affecting its movement. You can also use a small brush to clean hard - to - reach areas like the underbody. Store the model in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the paint and lettering from fading over time. If you notice any loose parts, you can use a small amount of model glue to reattach them carefully.
