Description
This is an Otter Valley Railroad exclusive HO scale model of the 64085 NSC 64-foot 6400 cubic-feet scrap and trash gondola, specifically the Middle CWSX #140078. Note that the picture might show a different road number. The NSC 64-foot gondola is a versatile car used in construction and waste disposal to haul waste to transfer sites. It's also great for carrying light to medium-density steel and other scrapping materials from scrap dealers to end-users. You can spot these cars across North America in unit or manifest train services, especially post-2000. This model comes with amazing features. It has accurate ends and slotting based on real measurements, different offset slots for 7-rung and 8-rung ladder cars, and is designed using industry sources. It has a correctly sized air reservoir and brake levers in the release position, metal wheels, coupler cut bars, and correct air hoses. The knuckle coupler, separately applied ladders, and fully detailed underbody add to its realism. The near-scale size draft gear box with specialized cushion detail, crisp painting, and lettering per the prototype make it a great collectible. Plus, it has rotating roller-bearing wheel caps with appropriate Bremco or Timken branding.
Using this HO scale Otter Valley scrap and trash gondola model is easy. You can place it on your model train tracks just like any other car in your collection. For a more realistic look, group it with other cars in a unit train or mix it into a manifest train. When handling the model, be gentle to avoid damaging the delicate parts like the separately applied ladders and coupler cut bars. Keep it away from rough surfaces or sharp objects. To maintain the model, use a soft, dry cloth to gently clean the body and wheels. If there's a lot of dust, you can use a small, soft-bristled brush. Don't use any harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners as they can damage the paint and lettering. Store the model in a cool, dry place to prevent any warping or damage over time.
