Description
Explore the Otter Valley Railroad's HO scale 64046 NSC scrap and trash gondola. Measuring 64 feet with a 6400 cubic-foot capacity, this gondola (CMBX #1610) is an Otter Valley exclusive. The picture might show a different road number. This gondola is mainly used in construction and waste disposal to haul waste to transfer sites. It's also great for transporting light to medium-density steel and other scrapping materials. You can spot these cars across North America in unit or manifest train services, especially after 2000. Model features include accurate ends and sloting from field measurements, different offset slots for 7-rung and 8-rung ladder cars, a brand-new design based on industry sources and field data, correct-sized air reservoirs and brake levers in the release position, metal wheels, coupler cut bars and proper air hoses, a knuckle coupler, separately applied ladders, a fully detailed underbody, a near-scale draft gear box with specialized cushion detail, sharp painting and lettering like the prototype, and rotating roller-bearing wheel caps with appropriate Bremco or Timken branding.
Using your Otter Valley Railroad scrap and trash gondola model is easy. Simply place it on your HO scale train tracks and couple it with other cars in your train. It can be part of a unit train or a manifest train. When handling the model, be gentle to avoid damaging the delicate parts like the separately applied ladders and the coupler cut bars. To keep your gondola in great shape, clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they might damage the paint and lettering. Store the model in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading. Check the metal wheels and knuckle coupler periodically to make sure they're working smoothly. If you notice any loose parts, use a small amount of glue suitable for model trains to fix them.
