Description
This is an HO scale model of the Otter Valley Railroad's 64031 NSC 64 - foot 6400 cubic - foot scrap and trash gondola, specifically the CDEX version in black with black truck caps, numbered #16095. Please note that the picture might show a different road number. This is an exclusive product from Otter Valley! The NSC 64 - foot gondola is widely used in construction and waste disposal industries to transport waste to transfer sites. It's also great for hauling light - to - medium density steel and other scrapping materials from scrapyards to end - users. You can spot these cars across North America in unit or manifest train services, mainly post - 2000. The model features accurate ends and slotting based on real - world measurements. It has different offset slots for 7 - rung and 8 - rung ladder cars. The new design is based on industry sources and field data. It comes with the correct size air reservoir and brake levers in the'release' position, metal wheels, coupler cut bars, correct air hoses, and a knuckle coupler. There are separately applied ladders, a fully detailed underbody, a near - scale draft gear box with specialized cushion detail, and crisp painting and lettering just like the real thing. It also has rotating roller - bearing wheel caps with appropriate Bremco or Timken branding where needed.
Using this HO scale model is easy. You can place it on your model train tracks to create a realistic railroad scene. Whether you're setting up a construction - themed layout or a waste - disposal one, this gondola will fit right in. When handling the model, be gentle. Avoid dropping it or applying too much pressure, as it has delicate parts like the separately applied ladders and the knuckle coupler. To keep it looking great, you can use a soft, dry cloth to dust it regularly. If there are stubborn stains, you can use a very mild soap solution on a damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the paint from fading.
