Description
This is an HO scale Otter Valley Railroad exclusive, the AIMX #14130 NSC 64 Ft 6400 CuFt Scrap and Trash Gondola. Note that the picture might show a different road number. The NSC 64Ft Gondola is widely used in construction and waste disposal industries to haul waste to transfer sites. It's also great for transporting light - to medium - density steel and other scrapping materials from scrappers to end - users. You can spot these cars all over North America in unit or manifest train services, especially after 2000. This model has some amazing features. It has accurate ends and sloting based on real - world measurements. There are different offset slots for 7 - rung and 8 - rung ladder cars. The whole model is designed using industry sources and field data. It comes with the correct size air reservoir and brake levers in the'release' position. The metal wheels, coupler cut bars, and correct air hoses are top - notch. The knuckle coupler works smoothly. Separately applied ladders add to the detail, and the underbody is fully detailed. The near - scale size draft gear box has specialized cushion details. The painting and lettering are as crisp as the real thing, and it has rotating roller - bearing wheel caps with appropriate Bremco or Timken branding where needed.
Using this HO scale scrap and trash gondola model is a breeze. You can easily integrate it into your model train setup. Just place it on the tracks and connect it to other cars using the knuckle coupler. When handling the model, be gentle with the separately applied ladders and other small details to avoid breakage. To keep it in good condition, regularly clean the metal wheels with a soft, dry cloth to prevent dirt buildup. Also, store the model in a dry place away from direct sunlight to avoid any damage to the paint and lettering. If you notice any issues with the coupler or other moving parts, a little bit of light lubricant can help keep them working smoothly.
