Description
The Otter Valley Railroad presents the HO Scale NSC 64 Ft 6400 CuFt Scrap and Trash Gondola, AIMX #14036. Note that the picture might show a different road number. This exclusive Otter Valley gondola is a great choice. It's mainly used in construction and waste disposal to haul waste to transfer sites. It also works well for carrying light - to - medium density steel and other scrapping materials from scrappers to end - users. You can spot these cars all over North America, whether in unit trains or manifest train service. Post 2000 era model. Features include accurate ends and sloting from field measurements, different offset slots for 7 - rung and 8 - rung ladder cars. It's a newly designed model using industry sources and field data. It has the correct size air reservoir and brake levers in the'release' position, metal wheels, coupler cut bars, correct air hoses, a knuckle coupler, separately applied ladders, a fully detailed underbody, a near - scale draft gear box with specialized cushion detail, crisp painting and lettering like the prototype, and rotating roller - bearing wheel caps with appropriate Bremco or Timken parts.
This Otter Valley scrap and trash gondola is a fun addition to your HO scale train collection. To use it, simply connect it to your train using the knuckle coupler. You can load it with small items to represent scrap or trash. When handling, be gentle with the separately applied ladders as they can be fragile. For maintenance, clean the metal wheels regularly with a soft cloth to keep them rolling smoothly. Check the coupler and air hoses often to make sure they're in good condition. Store the gondola in a dry place to prevent any rust on the metal parts. And always refer to the prototype for correct placement of the car in your train setup based on the era.
