Description
This is a limited - edition HO scale Atlas USRA rebuilt steel 40 - foot box car painted for the freelance model railroad Delta Lines with road number DL 2041. The picture might show a different road number. Frank Ellison's Delta Lines, a legacy freelance model railroad with over a century of history, has inspired numerous modelers. Over 100 articles have been written about it, its industries, and Frank Ellison's model railroad philosophy. This car, featuring the classic Delta Lines paint scheme, will surely be recognized by many. By the start of WWII, most classic USRA double - sheathed box cars were rebuilt with steel sides, and more rebuilds followed later. These steel - side rebuilds are a great addition to the Atlas HO scale product line. The Atlas USRA HO rebuilt steel 40 - foot box car is ready - to - run, with a highly detailed 10 - panel body, accurate painting and printing, brake detail, AccuMate® couplers, an opening door, and separately applied wire grabs and side ladders. It also has 7 - 8 or 5 - 5 - 5 panel ends and a fishbelly or straight underframe as per the prototype, though the inside height of the model may vary from the prototype.

Using this HO scale box car is a breeze. Since it's ready - to - run, you can simply place it on your model railroad track right out of the box. Notice the details like the accurate painting and printing, and you can even open the door for a more realistic look. When handling the car, be gentle with the separately applied wire grabs and side ladders to avoid damage. To keep it in good condition, store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight. You can clean it occasionally with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. If you want to use it for a long - time, avoid rough play and keep it away from areas where it might get knocked over. That way, you can enjoy this piece of model railroad history for years to come.
