Description
The Atlas 20004668 HO scale 11,000-gallon tank car, representing California Dispatch Line CDLX #1527 in black and white, is a great addition to your model railroad collection. The picture might show a different road number. Propane or Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is a natural and refining by - product. In the 1940s, the petroleum industry promoted LPG as a cleaner and more efficient fuel than coal and oil. Transporting LPG needs specially designed high - pressure tank cars. In the early 40s, the only qualified ACF tank car was the 10,500 - gallon high - pressure one. After the war, ACF designed a new 11,000 - gallon tank car in 1947, and many were built until the mid - 1950s. The Atlas model accurately recreates this late - steam/early - diesel era tank car in two versions (with and without platform rails). Cars with top platform rails were for places without elevated loading/unloading facilities, while those without were for customers with such facilities. This model features finely molded handrails, tank fittings, safety placards, 50 - ton friction - bearing trucks with AccuMate® couplers, accurate painting and lettering, and a platform when appropriate.

Using this HO scale tank car model is easy. Just place it on your model railroad tracks. When you're setting up a scene, you can pair it with other relevant model cars to create a more realistic look. As for handling, be gentle when moving it to avoid any damage to the finely molded handrails and other small parts. To keep your model in good condition, regularly clean it with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they might damage the paint or other details. Store it in a dry place, away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading. If you notice any loose parts, you can use a small amount of suitable glue to fix them, but make sure to follow the glue's instructions.
