Description
The Walthers Mainline 2719 HO Scale 40' AAR Modified 1937 Boxcar, Maine Central #5190, comes in eye - catching green and yellow with large MEC and 'The Pine Tree Route' logos. It's part of the first standard boxcar designs used by American railroads. This is a limited - edition boxcar with a one - time production of these road numbers. Thousands of such cars were used in general service from the late 1930s to the 1980s. Based on taller cars with a 10' 6' interior height, it features 5 - 5 Dreadnaught ends, a Murphy panel roof, a wood running board, 6' Youngstown doors, AAR (tab) side sills, correct 33' turned - metal wheelsets, and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.
Using this HO scale boxcar is easy. Just place it on your model railroad tracks and enjoy how it adds authenticity to your layout. When handling, be gentle to avoid any damage to the delicate parts like the wheelsets and couplers. For maintenance, use a soft, dry cloth to clean the boxcar regularly. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they may damage the paint or the logos. Store it in a cool, dry place to prevent any warping or rusting of the metal parts.
