Description
Upgrade your 1960s and later freight car fleet with the Walthers Mainline 40' American Car and Foundry Modernized Welded Boxcar featuring 8' Youngstown Doors. These HO scale models are a great addition for model railroad lovers. They're based on cars rebuilt to meet new safety standards in the 1960s. Key features include a brand - new body style, a limited - quantity one - time run of these road numbers. The prototypes were used in general freight service from the late 1960s to the 1980s. The boxcars have no running boards or mounts on the roof, tall ladders and a molded roof - mounted grab iron at the B (brake wheel end) only, and short ladders at the A end. It also has a detailed 10 - panel body, 8' Youngstown doors, late Stanray 4/4 improved Dreadnaught ends, a Stanray diagonal panel roof, correct 33' turned metal RP - 25 metal wheelsets, and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.

Using this Walthers HO scale boxcar is easy. Just place it on your model railroad tracks and it's ready to roll. It can be a great addition to your freight train setup. When handling the boxcar, be gentle as the small parts like the couplers and wheels are delicate. To maintain it, you can use a soft, dry cloth to clean the body from time to time. Avoid using any harsh chemicals as they may damage the paint or the plastic parts. Store it in a cool, dry place when not in use to prevent any warping or damage. If you notice any loose parts, you can use a small amount of glue suitable for plastic models to fix them, but be careful not to get glue on other parts of the boxcar.
