Description
This is an Otter Valley exclusive HO scale model of the NSC 64 Ft 6400 CuFt Scrap and Trash Gondola, CMBX #1607. Note that the picture might show a different road number. The NSC 64Ft Gondola is widely used in construction and waste disposal industries to transport waste to transfer sites. It's also used for hauling light to medium density steel and other scrapping materials from scrap yards to end - users. You can spot these cars all over North America, either in unit trains or manifest train service. This post - 2000 era model has many great features. It has accurate ends and sloting based on real - world measurements. There are different offset slots for 7 - rung and 8 - rung ladder cars. The model is newly designed using industry sources and field data. It comes with the correct size air reservoir and brake levers in the'release' position, metal wheels, coupler cut bars, and correct air hoses. It has a knuckle coupler, separately applied ladders, a fully detailed underbody, a near - scale draft gear box with specialized cushion detail. The painting and lettering are crisp, just like the real thing. And it has rotating roller - bearing wheel caps with appropriate Bremco or Timken branding.
Using this HO scale scrap and trash gondola model is easy. You can simply place it on your model train track and let it run with other trains in your collection. It's suitable for both unit train and manifest train setups. When handling the model, be gentle as it has some delicate parts like the separately applied ladders and air hoses. To keep it in good condition, regularly clean it with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the paint or the details. If you notice any loose parts, you can use a small amount of glue to re - attach them carefully. Store the model in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent any color fading or warping.
