Description
The Fox Valley Models N Scale FVM 10073 Trinity RD - 4 Coal Hopper is a great addition to your model train collection. This model represents the C&NW Chicago & North Western Railway #880034. Note that the picture might show a different road number. The Trinity RD - 4 Coal hopper is a 4200 - cubic - foot modern aluminum car built from the mid - 1990s to the early 2000s and is still in use today. Railroads and public utilities use these cars in unit trains to transport coal from fields to power plants or ports. Key features include new road numbers, spanning from 1994 to the present. It's part of the Series 880000 - 880249, built in Apr - May 1994. The model is fully assembled with a detailed plastic body and die - cast weight with interior detail. You can apply interior braces yourself. It comes with a removable coal load, detailed free - rolling trucks, and 36” machined metal wheels. The body - mounted operating knuckle couplers are Micro - Trains® compatible. The printing and lettering are clear even under magnification. It's weighted to industry standards for reliable operation and can operate on Code 55, 70, and 80 rail. It comes in a clear jewel box for safe storage. The minimum radius is 9 ¾” and the recommended radius is 11”.

Using your Fox Valley Models N Scale FVM 10073 Trinity RD - 4 Coal Hopper is easy. First, make sure your track meets the minimum radius of 9 ¾ inches, but it's better if it's 11 inches. Place the fully - assembled model on the track and connect it to other cars using the body - mounted operating knuckle couplers. You can add or remove the coal load as you like. When it comes to maintenance, keep the model clean. You can use a soft brush to clean the detailed plastic body and the trucks. Check the 36” machined metal wheels regularly for any signs of wear. If you notice any issues with the couplers, make sure they're properly aligned. Store the model in the clear jewel box when not in use to protect it from dust and damage. Also, be careful when handling the model, especially when applying the interior braces, as they're delicate. Have fun with your new model train addition!
