Description
Atlas presents the N Scale Louisville & Nashville #188178 PS-2750 Hopper in a striking boxcar red and white color scheme (note: picture may show a different road number). In the 1950s, Pullman-Standard introduced new standard designs for coal hoppers. The 70 - ton three - bay coal hopper, with a 2,750 - cubic - foot capacity, had sixteen side posts and was available with or without heap shields. Later, an 80 - ton version with a 2,960 - cubic - foot capacity was offered on the same frame length. These cars were built from 1954 - 1960 (2750 cf) and 1964 - 1971 (2960 cf). Key features include fifteen panels, die - cast hopper and center sill construction, a late 20th - century prototype, optional heap shields, friction - or roller - bearing trucks, Pullman - Standard design, and over 16,000 cars built.

Using this Atlas N scale hopper model is easy. Just place it on your model railroad track and let it be part of your train setup. When handling the model, be gentle to avoid any damage to the delicate parts like the side posts or the hopper. Store it in a dry and dust - free place to keep it looking good. If it gets dirty, you can use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe it clean. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or solvents as they may damage the paint or the plastic parts. For the trucks, check them regularly to make sure they roll smoothly. If they seem to be sticking, you can give them a light lubrication with a suitable model train lubricant. Enjoy adding this great model to your collection!
