Description
The Atlas 50004897 PS - 2750 Hopper is a stunning N - scale model representing Alaska Railroad #14402 in boxcar red and white. Note that the picture might show a different road number. In the 1950s, Pullman - Standard introduced new standard designs for coal hoppers. This 70 - ton three - bay coal hopper has a 2,750 - cubic - foot rated volume. The carbody has sixteen side posts and can come with or without heap shields. Later, an 80 - ton version with a 2,960 - cubic - foot rated volume was available. The 2750 - cf cars were built from 1954 - 1960, and the 2960 - cf ones from 1964 - 1971. Key features include fifteen panels, die - cast hopper and center sill construction, a late 20th - century prototype, optional heap shields, friction - or roller - bearing trucks, a Pullman - Standard design, and over 16,000 cars were built in total.

Using this N - scale Atlas hopper model is easy. Simply place it on your N - scale train track. You can connect it to other train cars in your collection. When handling, be gentle to avoid any damage to the delicate parts like the side posts and the hopper. For maintenance, keep it in a dry and dust - free place. If it gets dirty, use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe it clean. Don't use any harsh chemicals as they might damage the paint or the material. Make sure the trucks are in good condition and can roll smoothly. If you notice any issues, you might need to replace the trucks or other parts, but do it carefully following the manufacturer's instructions.
