Description
The ATLAS 50004651 Cushion Coil Car is a great addition to your N scale collection. Representing South Shore Freight (CSS) #1696, Part #150 - 50004651, it's based on the 1967 Evans design. In the early 1960s, there was a demand for specialized cars to transport coiled steel. The original cars were often 70 - ton mill gondolas, but the new coil - steel cars had a 100 - ton capacity with a trough frame and body. The design was refined in the 1960s, and a 48 - foot length became standard. Production lasted until the 1970s. This car features a die - cast body, sharp painting and lettering, two removable rounded hoods with stacking frames, and a detailed wood - lined trough floor. Note that the picture might show a different road number.

Using this ATLAS cushion coil car is easy. Just place it on your N scale train track and enjoy watching it move along. When handling the car, be gentle with the two removable rounded hoods. They can be taken off and stacked using the frames, but make sure to put them back carefully. To keep your car in good condition, clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or abrasive materials as they could damage the crisp painting and lettering. Also, store the car in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent any fading or warping. If you need to move the car around, hold it by the body to avoid putting too much stress on the details like the wood - lined trough floor.
