The Train Control Systems KA4-C comes with a 2-Pin Quick Connector Harness for power. The Keep Alive® (KA) devices supply power to decoders during power interruptions caused by dirty or problematic tracks. The KA4-C can power an HO-Scale locomotive with headlights on for 6 to 15 seconds, depending on the locomotive and motor efficiency. It works with Keep Alive® ready decoders and most non-TCS decoders. TCS decoders made after February 2012 are Keep Alive® ready. Dimensions are .52” x .52” x .45” (13.22mm x 13.22mm x 11.55mm). Scale options are HO Scale and N Scale. Input Rating is 12 to 16V.

Using the Train Control Systems KA4-C is quite straightforward. First, connect the 2 - Pin Quick Connector Harness to the power source. The device will then automatically supply power to the decoders during power interruptions. When power is cut off due to dirty or problematic tracks, it will keep your HO - Scale locomotive's headlights on for 6 to 15 seconds. Make sure your decoder is either Keep Alive® ready or a compatible non - TCS decoder. TCS decoders made after February 2012 are good to go. As for maintenance, keep the device clean and avoid exposing it to excessive moisture. Check the power connections regularly to ensure a stable input of 12 to 16V. If you notice any issues with the power supply or performance, check the tracks for dirt or problems.
