Get the 1415 TCS N-Scale Train Control Systems K4-LK Lighting Kit for K4D6 (Part # 745-1415). This kit comes with three hookup wires (two for light functions) and one anode wire (center wire). It provides light to both the reverse light lens/bulb and the rotary beacon on top. Installing it is a breeze! Just solder the wires to the pads as shown, and you're good to go.

Using this K4-LK lighting kit is easy. First, with the K4D6 installed in your locomotive, place the K4-LK behind the locomotive with the wires facing up and towards the K4D6. Then, solder the wires from the K4-LK to the K4D6 in the same order as they are in the K4-LK. The green wire closest to you attaches to the closest pad on the K4D6, the red wire to the center pad, and the far green wire to the farthest pad. After attaching the wires to the K4D6, stand the K4-LK up with the edge having cutoff corners facing up and the side with wires pointing towards the K4D6. Tip the top of the lighting board backwards to slip it behind the red light tube in the roof of the locomotive. Then pop it into a vertical position so that the bottom edge rests on the small ledges at the rear of the locomotive and the top presses firmly against the top of the shell. Bend the wires a bit to let them fold when you replace the shell. As for maintenance, keep the kit clean and dry. Avoid any rough handling that might damage the wires. If you notice any issues with the lighting, check the soldering connections first.
