Using these Kadee 804 couplers is easy. First, make sure you have all the parts from the package: two #804 couplers, two #817 plastic gearboxes with lids, and three #850 centering springs. You can simply drop the couplers into place. The #746 Metal Coupler can be paired with the included #817 Plastic Gearbox or other optional ones. When mounting, use 2 - 56 insulated screws. The mounting height is 25/32', the centerline is 1 1/16', and the trip pin height is 1/16'. Just be careful not to use a metal coupler directly on a metal surface or in a metal draft gearbox. This can cause electrical problems and damage your equipment. To maintain these couplers, keep them clean. You can use a soft brush to remove any dirt or debris. Check the springs regularly to make sure they are in good condition. If you notice any wear or damage, replace the parts as needed. With proper use and maintenance, these couplers will give you trouble - free operation for a long time.
