Description
The Fox Valley Models N Scale FVM 10058 Trinity RD - 4 Coal Hopper, BNSF/Heritage III #651533 is a great addition to your collection. Note that the picture might show a different road number. The Trinity RD - 4 Coal hopper, built since the mid - 1990s and still in use today, is a 4200 - cubic - foot modern car. Railroads and public utilities use these aluminum hopper cars in unit trains to transport coal from coal fields to power plants or ports for export. This FVM RD - 4 Hopper – BNSF features new road numbers, and it's from the 2005 - present era. It belongs to the Series 651400 – 652574, built from Jun to Dec 2005. It's fully assembled with a detailed plastic body and die - cast weight with interior detail. The modeler can apply interior braces. It comes with a removable coal load, detailed free - rolling trucks, and 36” machined metal wheels. The body - mounted operating knuckle couplers are Micro - Trains® compatible. The printing and lettering are clear even under magnification. It's weighted to industry standards for reliable operation and can operate on Code 55, 70, and 80 rail. It's safely stored in a clear jewel box packaging. The minimum radius is 9 ¾” and the recommended radius is 11”. Coal has been transported by train since the start of railroads. From single - car loads to modern mile - long unit trains, coal transport has evolved. Cars have developed from early wood and composite ones to standard steel hoppers and finally to modern aluminum ones like the Trinity RD - 4, which has a wide variety of paint schemes due to being owned by multiple railroads and public utilities. With a 4200 - cubic - foot capacity and labeled as a Plate F car, it can be emptied quickly either as a conventional bottom - dump car or with a rotary dumper.

Using your Fox Valley Models N Scale FVM 10058 Trinity RD - 4 Coal Hopper is easy. First, make sure you have a suitable track with a minimum radius of 9 ¾” or a recommended radius of 11”. You can operate it on Code 55, 70, and 80 rail. The hopper comes fully assembled, but you can add the interior braces as a modeler. The coal load is removable, so you can change it according to your needs. When it comes to maintenance, keep the detailed plastic body clean with a soft cloth. The die - cast weight inside helps with reliable operation, so be careful not to damage it. Check the free - rolling trucks regularly to ensure smooth movement. The 36” machined metal wheels should be free of debris. The body - mounted operating knuckle couplers, which are Micro - Trains® compatible, need to be in good condition for proper connection. The printing and lettering are clear, but avoid scratching them. Store the model in the clear jewel box packaging when not in use to protect it from dust and damage.
