Description
The ESU 59828 LokPilot Micro V5.0 DCC decoder, with a Next 18 plug (Part # ESU - 59828), is a great choice for model train enthusiasts. It's super small, just 8.0mm x 7.0mm and 2.4mm thick (2.9mm on the capacitor). This makes it fit easily into tiny locomotives of Z, N, or TT sizes. It's a pure DCC decoder, and its simplicity means a lower price. LokPilot 5 micro DCC decoders come with all common interfaces. The Next18 or PluX16 interface variants are a bit larger (13.0mm x 9.2mm base area) but have 2 extra function outputs. It supports 14 to 128 speed steps, 2 - and 4 - digit addresses, and can trigger up to 32 functions. With Rail¬ComPlus®, it automatically logs on to a suitable DCC system. It works with all DCC programming command stations and has auxiliary registers for some systems. It recognizes Märklin® braking sections, ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands, and Lenz® ABC system. It can brake with DCC brake modules or DC voltage and stops with a Selectrix® brake diode. There's also an ABC automatic shuttle train feature. It can be used on analog DC trains, and you can set the maximum speed separately. It switches operating modes automatically. The decoder has plenty of function outputs. The 6 - pin or 8 - pin wiring harness variants offer 4 amplified function outputs with 180mA output current and two logic level outputs. The Next18 or PluX16 interface versions have 6 amplified outputs and two logic level outputs. All important lighting effects are available, and you can adjust the brightness of each output. It can handle automatic pushing and pulling for ROCO®, Krois®, and Telex® couplings. The motor control is greatly improved. A variable PWM clock frequency from 10kHz to 50kHz ensures quiet operation, especially for bell - armature motors. There are up to 10 CVs for load control adjustment in difficult cases. The 'Autotune' function automatically calibrates the decoder to the motor. It can deliver up to.75A of motor current. You can fit a PowerPack to bypass dirty track, and both motor and function outputs are overload - protected.

Using the ESU 59828 LokPilot Micro V5.0 DCC decoder is easy. First, install it in your model train. Make sure to connect it properly according to the interface type you're using, like Next18 or PluX16. When you start up your DCC system, the decoder will automatically log on thanks to Rail¬ComPlus®. You can control the speed, set addresses, and trigger functions using your DCC command station. If you're using it on an analog DC train, you can set the maximum speed separately. When it comes to lighting, you can adjust the brightness of each output to make your locomotive look realistic. For motor control, the 'Autotune' function will help the decoder work well with your motor. Just let it do its job. You can also adjust the load control if needed. If you encounter dirty track, you can fit a PowerPack to keep the decoder working. As for maintenance, keep the decoder clean and dry. Check the connections regularly to make sure they're secure. Avoid overloading the motor or function outputs, as they're protected but it's still better to use them within their limits. That way, you can enjoy your decoder for a long time.
