Description
The Digitrax DH127P is a great 8-pin mobile decoder for HO scale locomotives. It can replace the DH126P. It fits many 8-pin medium socket DCC-ready HO locomotives. It comes with a Digitrax 9-pin socket and P-harness, and a medium plug with about 3.2' wires. It has a 1.0 amp/2 amp peak power output and 2 FX7 functions with 200ma output. The key features include Digitrax Easy Connect 9-pin socket for easy control, allowing the decoder to be moved between different locomotive interfaces. It has Series 7 enhanced decoder features, and the firmware can be updated by users. It offers 2 Digitrax FX7 functions for realistic lighting effects and on/off control. It also has a configurable FX7 pulse function, supports 2-digit and 4-digit addressing, and has basic, advanced, and universal consisting. It runs silently with a SuperSonic motor drive, and can be programmed in direct and operations mode. You can program CVs using any Digitrax compatible control system without extra equipment. It has power-on motor isolation protection, is DCC compatible, FCC Part 15 Class B RFI compliant, and operates on DCC track voltage from 9V to 22V.
Using the Digitrax DH127P is straightforward. First, make sure your locomotive is DCC-ready and has an 8-pin medium socket. Connect the decoder to the locomotive using the provided 9-pin socket and P-harness. Once connected, you can start programming the decoder according to your needs. You can use any Digitrax compatible control system to program CVs without buying extra equipment. When it comes to using the functions, the 2 FX7 functions allow you to control lights and other functions for a more realistic look. As for maintenance, keep the decoder clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you need to update the firmware, use a Digitrax USB equipped command station with Sound Loader software in decoder IPL mode. Also, remember that the decoder has power-on motor isolation protection, which helps prevent damage, but still handle it with care. Make sure the DCC track voltage is between 9V and 22V for proper operation.
