Description
The Atlas 20005690 HO Scale 60' ACF Auto Parts DD Boxcar, representing Western Maryland #495993, is a great addition to your collection. Note that the picture might show a different road number. Built by American Car & Foundry from the late 1960s to early 1970s, these box cars were used to serve assembly plants and component suppliers across the nation. They had single or double doors for easy access to freight, which was very useful for the auto industry. Many of these cars are still in service in North America today. This model comes with several great features. It has 70 - ton roller - bearing trucks with blackened metal wheels and adjustable screws. The body is authentically painted and lettered, with sliding doors and distinctive 'Precision Design' recessed panels. The roof and ends are prototypically designed with full rivet detail. There's a detailed die - cast metal underframe for better operation, a separate brake system and air reservoir, a cushion underframe with extended coupler pockets, AccuMate® operating knuckle couplers with mounting screws, and roof overspray.

Using this HO Scale Atlas boxcar is easy. Just place it on your model train track, and it's ready to roll. When handling the car, be gentle to avoid any damage to the detailed parts like the sliding doors and the couplers. To keep it in good condition, clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. You can also use a mild cleaner if there's stubborn dirt, but make sure to dry it thoroughly. Check the adjustable screws on the trucks from time to time to ensure they're tightened properly. If you need to replace the couplers or other parts, use the mounting screws provided. Store the boxcar in a cool, dry place when not in use to prevent any rust or damage to the metal parts.
