Description
ATLAS presents the 20004770 40' Postwar Boxcar of Indiana Harbor Belt IHB #10762 in HO scale (Part # 150 - 20004770). After World War II, North American railroads, driven by the business boom and the need to replace old equipment, started building numerous 40' box cars following AAR standard designs in 1945. These prototypes had various combinations of roof styles, ends, and doors, and our tooling covers many common options.
Features:
- State - of - the - art detailed tooling.
- Many separately attached details like ladders and grab irons.
- Four end styles: 4/4, Early and Late Improved Dreadnaught or 'Dartnot'.
- Two roof types: straight or diagonal panel.
- Superior or Youngstown doors.
- Seven or eight - rung ladders.
- Fully detailed underframe.
- Free - rolling trucks with blackened metal wheelsets.
- Well - researched prototypical paint schemes.

Using this ATLAS HO scale boxcar is easy. Just place it on your model railroad track and couple it with other cars using the AccuMate® couplers. You can run it along with your model train engine and enjoy the realistic look of the Indiana Harbor Belt IHB #10762. When handling the boxcar, be gentle to avoid damaging the separately applied details like ladders and grab irons. To keep it in good condition, regularly clean the wheelsets with a soft, dry cloth to ensure smooth rolling. Store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the paint from fading. If you need to remove dust from the body, use a soft brush or compressed air carefully.
