This HO-scale decoder (Part # 745-1412) is a direct-plug replacement for Life Like engines with 8-pin NMRA sockets. It fits Life Like FA1 and other locomotives with a headlight and separate mars light. Key features include 1.0/2.0 Amp continuous/peak power, 2 total functions, and 80 mA function rating. It has 2 12V outputs. The decoder offers Back EMF Load Compensation for great slow speed control, Quiet Drive for noise-free motor performance, and automatic DC power detection. It also supports RailCom®, Variable Momentum, Incandescent Bulb use, Function Remapping, Programmable Lighting Effects, Dimmable Brightness, Decoder Lock, Airwire™ compatibility, and User-Loadable Speed Tables.

Using this decoder is easy. First, make sure your Life Like engine has an 8 - pin NMRA socket. Just plug the decoder directly into it. When using the decoder, remember that Function 0 reverse is connected to Function 1 which controls the Mars Light in these engines. This decoder is only for Life Like locomotives mentioned, don't use it in other locomotives that use DP - series decoders. For maintenance, keep it in a dry and clean place. If you want to change the lighting effects or speed settings, follow the programming instructions carefully. Also, when the Decoder Lock feature is activated, it prevents accidental programming changes.
