Description
Walthers Mainline presents the 910 - 46014 HO scale 50' ACF Exterior Post Dreadnaught End Plate B Boxcar, specifically numbered as ITC Illinois Terminal #7324. This boxcar is an ideal addition to HO layouts from the 1970s onwards. In the 1970s, due to a shortage of suitable boxcars, many railroads turned to larger 50' American Car & Foundry Exterior Post Plate B Boxcars. Introduced in 1971, these boxcars with the popular Dreadnaught end design have been in general freight service ever since. Our models are layout - ready and built to last, with these great features: One - time production of these road numbers, so order now as quantities are limited! These prototypes have been seen across the country from 1971 to the present. They can handle all types of general freight loading and were used by dozens of railroads. The boxcars come with Dreadnaught ends, a Stanray diagonal panel roof, and correct Plate B dimensions (41' 3' Truck Centers, 15' 2' Tall, 10' 8' Wide). They are fully assembled, equipped with correct 33' RP - 25 metal wheelsets and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.
Using this HO scale boxcar is easy. Just place it on your HO layout's tracks and start creating your freight scene. You can load it with different types of general freight items to make your layout more realistic. When handling the boxcar, be gentle to avoid any damage to the couplers or wheels. For maintenance, keep it clean by using a soft brush to remove dust from the body, wheels, and couplers. If you notice any loose parts, you can use a small amount of glue suitable for model trains to fix them. Store the boxcar in a dry and cool place to prevent any warping or damage over time. Remember, this is a limited - edition item, so take good care of it to enjoy it for a long time.
