Description
The ESU 53900 LokSound Decoder Tester is a must - have for model railway enthusiasts. Whether you're dealing with small or large scale models, this tester simplifies the process of testing digital decoders. You no longer have to worry about complex installations. Just connect it to your command station or LokProgrammer, and it can test any decoder without the interference of external factors from the locomotive. It comes with various interface sockets like 6 - pole NEM 651, 8 - pole NEM 652, 21MTC as per NEM 660, PluX22, and Next18, ensuring compatibility with all types of decoders. Even decoders without interfaces can be tested using individual terminals. It features a quality coreless motor with a flywheel and LEDs to check motor output, and an LED monitor for light functions. There's also a 20 mm speaker for testing LokSound decoders, with options to adjust impedance. Two SUSI plugs allow direct testing of optional SUSI modules. The electrical connection is easy, either via a removable 2 - pole terminal block or two solder points. An extension board is available for large scale decoders, making it an essential workshop tool.

Using the ESU 53900 LokSound Decoder Tester is a breeze. First, connect the tester to your command station or the LokProgrammer. This connection can be made through the removable 2 - pole terminal block or by soldering at the two solder points. Once connected, if your decoder has an interface, simply plug it into the appropriate socket on the tester, like the 6 - pole NEM 651, 8 - pole NEM 652, 21MTC, PluX22, or Next18. For decoders without an interface, use the individual terminals. To check the motor output, watch the LEDs indicating the direction along with the quality coreless motor with a flywheel. The LED monitor will show you the functioning of headlights, back - up lights, and function outputs AUX1 through AUX6. If you're testing a LokSound decoder, you can choose to switch off the integral 20 mm speaker or set its impedance to 100 Ohm or 16 Ohm. When using the SUSI plugs, you can directly test optional SUSI modules or connect to another circuit board. If you have large scale decoders, use the extension board. As for maintenance, keep the tester clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. Check the connections regularly to ensure they are secure. If you encounter any problems, refer to the manufacturer's instructions or contact customer support.
