Description
The Digitrax UR90X LocoNet Infrared Receiver simplifies the hookup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your LocoNet system. All connections are plug-detachable for easy setup and changes. It features one RJ12 throttle jack on the front panel and two RJ12 LocoNet jacks on the rear, allowing you to connect to other LocoNet devices using a 6-conductor telephone cable with RJ12 6-pin connectors. You can daisy-chain your LocoNet ports around the layout. The receiver also has IR and NET indicator LEDs for easy monitoring. It comes with a 'power sharing' charge circuitry for throttles connected to six Universal Panels (an external 12V supply is required for the optional DT602/UT6 charging source in sleep mode). Note that infrared signals from the throttle to the UR90X receiver need a line of sight. Reflective walls and ceilings can enhance IR reception, and you'll likely need more than one receiver for full coverage of an average home layout.
Using the Digitrax UR90X LocoNet Infrared Receiver is quite straightforward. First, connect it to other LocoNet devices using a 6 - conductor telephone cable with RJ12 6 - pin connectors through the two RJ12 LocoNet jacks on the rear. Plug your throttle into the RJ12 throttle jack on the front panel. When in use, keep an eye on the IR and NET indicator LEDs to know the status. For charging throttles connected to six Universal Panels, make sure you have an external 12V supply for the optional DT602/UT6 charging source in sleep mode. Remember that the infrared signals from the throttle to the receiver need a clear line of sight. If you want better reception, you can use reflective walls and ceilings. In most cases, for full coverage of an average home layout, you'll need more than one receiver. For maintenance, just make sure the connections are tight and clean. Check the cables regularly for any signs of wear and tear. If there are any issues, you can easily troubleshoot because of the plug - detachable connections.
