Description
The DCC SPECIALTIES 246-RRAMPMETER V4 is a high - power circuit module, Version IV. It comes enclosed with clip leads and has a battery backup for high - voltage applications, suitable for all scales. This amazing meter, designed for model railroaders, can accurately measure DCC, AC, and DC volts and amps. It can handle DCC up to 38.6 V and 18 - 20 A, DC up to 38.6 V and 18 - 20 A, and AC up to 27.6 V and 18 - 20 A. With a PCB length of 5.63 inches and an enclosure size of 4 inches in length, 2 inches in width, and 1.25 inches in height, it's very practical. It's the only inexpensive device that can accurately measure DCC volts/amps, also measures AC and DC volts/amps, and costs less than DVMs that can't measure DCC. It measures true RMS volts/amps with a +/- 2% accuracy, doesn't require batteries, and is designed for both left - and right - hand use. There are 4 styles available, with Version IV being ideal for large - scale high - voltage and current needs.
Using the DCC SPECIALTIES 246 - RRAMPMETER V4 is easy. First, connect the clip leads to the appropriate circuit. Then, you can start measuring DCC, AC, or DC volts and amps. When setting up your booster output, use it to find the optimum voltage for your decoders and sound units. You can also walk around your layout to measure voltage drops. Remember, this meter doesn't require batteries, but if you're using the battery backup feature in Version IV, make sure the battery is properly installed. Keep the meter in a dry and clean place to avoid damage. Don't expose it to extreme temperatures. If you notice any issues with the measurements or the device itself, it's best to consult the manufacturer. Also, since it's designed for specific voltage and current ranges, don't try to use it outside those limits.
