Description
BLI presents the 6781 SD40-2 locomotive in the Chicago & North Western livery, numbered #6867. It's a HO scale model with the Paragon 4 system featuring sound and DCC. Note that the picture might show a different road number. The SD40-2, introduced in 1972 by EMD, is a top - selling diesel locomotive. With nearly 4,000 units sold from 1972 - 1989, it became an industry standard for decades due to its 3,000 - horsepower reliability. This model shares a frame with SD38 - 2 and SD45 - 2, having unique 'porches' and distinct radiator fans and exhaust stack. In 2021, we're offering 11 paint schemes and an unpainted version. Key features include the Paragon4 Sound & Control System with ROLLING THUNDER, a dual - mode decoder for smooth DC and DCC operation, a precision drive mechanism for heavy towing, and many separately applied details. The Paragon4 system offers excellent control, sound, and lighting features, like DC and DCC operation, pro lighting mode, and record & play functionality.

Using this locomotive is a breeze. First, if you're using DC, you can use the DCMaster for sound. For DCC, just connect it to your DCC system. The locomotive will run smoothly on Code 70, 83, and 100 rail with a minimum operating radius of 18 inches. When it comes to the sound and lighting features, you can use the Paragon4 system controls. For example, you can adjust the bell ringing interval or choose different horns. Be careful when handling the locomotive, as it has many separately applied details that could be easily damaged. When not in use, store it in a dry and cool place. To maintain it, clean the wheels regularly with a soft cloth to ensure good electrical pick - up. If you need to reset the locomotive to factory settings, just press the EZ Reset Button.
