Description
The Atlas 150-10004044 is a remarkable HO scale model train representing the GP-40 of D&RGW Denver & Rio Grande Western #3152 in striking black and orange. Note that the picture might show a different road number. In 1966, EMD launched a new locomotive line using the 16-cylinder 645-series prime mover. The GP40, part of the '40-series', was a six-axle, 3,000hp turbocharged locomotive, perfect for road freight. It has three rooftop radiator fans at the rear of the long hood, unlike the 2,000hp non-turbocharged GP38 with two fans. Both models have the same wheelbase and body style. The Atlas GP38 and GP40 models offer options like long hoods with or without dynamic brakes and underframes with different fuel tank sizes. This model comes with many great features such as golden-white LEDs, a realistic die-cast underframe, a high - performance motor, and directional lighting. It also has detailed cab interiors and separately - installed fine parts. The Gold Series has excellent DCC and sound features, including over 20 sound effects and flexible function key mapping.

Using your Atlas GP - 40 model train is easy. First, make sure your DCC system is set up and running. Connect the train to the tracks and power it on. Use the DCC controller to adjust the speed and direction. The train has a variety of sound effects. You can use the function keys on your controller to activate the bell, horn, and other sounds. When it comes to maintenance, keep the tracks clean regularly to ensure smooth operation. Wipe the locomotive with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid using harsh chemicals on the model. If you want to install the additional feature parts like the electrical cabinet air filter box, do it carefully to prevent damage. And that's it! Enjoy running your model train for years to come.
