Description
Get your HO freight trains rolling safely with the Walthers Mainline International Car Company Wide Vision Caboose. This HO scale caboose, numbered DT&I Detroit & Toledo Shore Line #120 (model 910 - 8765), is ready to run right out of the box. Introduced in the early 1960s, these cabooses allowed crews to see over the larger freight cars. This model features a full - width cupola ending at the car roof edge. Key features include prototypes in service from the 1960s to 1980s (some still used as shoving platforms today), a wide - vision cupola with two window styles, a Stanray overhanging diagonal panel roof, thin see - through running boards, finely molded end ladders, scale - thickness end railings, an underbody toolbox, molded drill starter points for grab irons (easily added with the separately sold Caboose Detail Kit #910 - 201), Barber Swingmaster roller bearing trucks with 33' RP - 25 turned metal wheelsets, and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.
Using this caboose is easy. Just take it out of the box and place it at the end of your HO scale freight train. It's ready to run right away. When handling the caboose, be gentle to avoid any damage to the delicate parts like the thin running boards and end ladders. For maintenance, you can use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior regularly. If you want to add grab irons, use the Caboose Detail Kit #910 - 201. Follow the instructions that come with the kit. Store the caboose in a cool, dry place to prevent any warping or damage. Check the wheels and couplers occasionally to make sure they are in good working condition.
