Description
Walthers 910 - 55678 presents the Thrall 5 Unit Rebuilt 40' Well Car for BNSF Santa Fe Leasing SFLC #1045 in HO Scale. Note that the picture might show a different road number. Upgrade your HO Scale intermodal fleet in no time with WaltherMainline Thrall Rebuilt 40' Well Cars! As 53' containers became the norm for domestic shipping, older well cars for 48' boxes lost popularity. Starting in 2003, Thrall rebuilt these cars to have 40' wells. Now, they can carry 20' and 40' containers in the well and 40' and 53' units on top. These fully - assembled models are ready for service and come with great features: a one - time run of these road numbers, so order now as quantity is limited; a heavy die - cast metal frame for excellent performance whether empty or loaded; finely molded 3 - D brake rods with chains, brake piping and weld lines on the body; separate deck - mounted brake detail with piping, IBC storage boxes and realistic walkways; 70 - ton roller bearing trucks; correct 33' RP - 25 turned metal wheelsets; and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.
Using your Walthers HO Scale Thrall Well Car is a breeze. Just place it on your model railroad track and it's ready to roll. You can load it up with 20' and 40' containers in the well and 40' and 53' units on top to make your railroad scene more realistic. Remember, these road numbers are a one - time run, so don't miss out on this limited - edition item. When handling the car, be gentle as the finely molded details like the 3 - D brake rods and chains can be delicate. To keep your well car in top shape, clean it regularly with a soft brush to remove dust. If you notice any dirt on the wheels, use a mild cleaner to wipe them down. Also, check the couplers from time to time to make sure they're working properly for smooth connections with other cars.
