Description
Walthers presents the 910 - 55668 HO Scale Thrall 5 - Unit Rebuilt 40' Well Car with a small red TTX logo, TTX DTTX #748192. Note that the picture might show a different road number. Modernize your HO Scale intermodal fleet in no time with WaltherMainline Thrall Rebuilt 40' Well Cars. As the 53' container became the norm for domestic shipping, older well cars for 48' boxes lost popularity among railroads. Since 2003, Thrall rebuilt these cars, shortening the wells to 40'. Now, they carry 20' and 40' containers in the well and 40' and 53' units on top. These fully - assembled models are ready for service and have many great features: one - time run of these road numbers with limited quantity, so order now! A heavy die - cast metal frame ensures great performance whether empty or loaded. Finely molded 3 - D brake rods with chains, brake piping, and weld lines on the body. Separate deck - mounted brake details include piping, IBC storage boxes, and realistic walkways. They come with 70 - ton roller bearing trucks, correct 33' RP - 25 turned metal wheelsets, and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.
Using this Walthers HO Scale well car is easy. Just place it on your model train track and it's ready to start carrying containers. You can load 20' and 40' containers in the well and 40' and 53' units on top. Since it's a one - time run with limited quantity, handle it with care. When it comes to maintenance, keep it clean. You can use a soft brush to remove dust from the brake rods, chains, and other details. Also, check the wheels and couplers regularly. If the wheels seem to be moving roughly, you might need to clean them or adjust the axles. For the Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers, make sure they are properly connected and functioning. Avoid dropping or knocking the car, as the die - cast metal frame, while strong, could still be damaged.
