Description
This is an Otter Valley exclusive N scale model of the NSC 64 Ft 6400 CuFt Scrap and Trash Gondola, CDEX #16198. Note that the picture might show a different road number. The real - world NSC 64Ft Gondola is widely used in construction and waste disposal, hauling waste to transfer sites. It also transports light - to - medium density steel and other scrap materials from scrap dealers to end - users and can be seen across North America in unit or manifest train services, mainly post 2000. The model features accurate ends and sloting based on field measurements, different offset slots for 7 - rung and 8 - rung ladder cars. It's a brand - new design using industry sources and field data. It has a correctly sized air reservoir and brake levers in the release position, metal wheels, coupler cut bars, and correct air hoses. It comes with a Microtrains type Knuckle coupler, separately applied ladders, a fully detailed underbody, a near - scale draft gear box with specialized cushion detail, and crisp painting and lettering as per the prototype. The wheels are appropriately labeled with Bremco or Timken.
Using this Otter Valley N scale scrap and trash gondola model is easy. You can simply place it on your N scale train track and let it roll with other train cars. When setting up your train layout, make sure the track is clean and free of debris to ensure smooth movement. As for storage, keep it in a dry and dust - free place to prevent any damage to the delicate parts. For maintenance, you can gently clean the wheels with a soft cloth to keep them rolling well. If you notice any loose parts like the ladders or couplers, use a small amount of glue to re - attach them carefully. And remember, since the painting and lettering are very detailed, handle the model gently to avoid scratching them.
